Wouldn’t that song be called “Ellipsis”?

Technically yes, that is an ellipsis, but lyrically, the word ellipsis just didn’t work the way the phrase “three dots” does. So since “three dots” were in the lyrics, we called the song three dots. But really, you can call the song whatever you’d like, since it’s “(…)”.
